Students in high school need to experience modeling in their math classroom. Modeling requires making sense of a problem situation and creating useful mathematical representations for it.

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • Identify specific characteristics of what modeling looks like in a high school classroom.
  • Build an understanding of instructional strategies that encourage high school students to use modeling.
  • Experience how modeling will be assessed on high school PARCC tests.
